Agriculture trip in India

It is January 20-over a week since I came back from India. I can’t believe I haven’t written yet but it reminds me of how much I go through the motions in Boston without being present. Frankly, my trip to India was amazing. I was back in the present, remembering my passion for serving the bottom of the pyramid. I stayed in Pune for most of the trip-my first time and I really liked the city.  Being back in India reminded me how happy people in this world are with very little, and how little things are really the big things in life. I hung out with my friends in Mumbai and Pune and began to realize the potential for my life. I realized that I could play my part in changing the world, but it will take risks and struggle.

While visiting Tastybite in Pune, I investigated the viability for a organic fertilizer venture focused on high yielding sustainable inputs. I realized the market was very fragmented, yet I saw the potential for a growing need of pesticide free food. If I could source pesticide free food and help create the distribution channel, there was immense possibility for a new venture.

My goals over the next month are to come up with a workplan for the year. In order to help this grow, I need to evaluate the business through a pilot project. I’m excited to take this to the next level..
